The former American Ceylon Mission Congregational church, inaugurated in 1816, then went into the South Indian Christian Ecumenical Body during 1947, latter came back to its roots of Congregational and got the name: Church of The American Ceylon Mission.

Obituary notice of Miss. Lucy Thoma of Alaveddy
Though she was on her sickbed, she regularly received sick communion and contributed her church from her pension. She worked as a nurse at Inuvil Mission Hospital then she went into the Government service.
her final rites were done at No.20, Perinpanayagam lane, Chundikuli and buried at Nallur Anglican graveyard today at 4 pm. (2nd of September, 2010)
